The Ella Dress in Black Silk Velvet

The Ella Dress, reimagined in 100% silk velvet.

Cut in deep black silk velvet, this edition transforms the romantic structure of the original Ella into something richer and more enduring. Silk velvet has an unmistakable depth to it, absorbing and reflecting light differently as the fabric moves and giving the black an almost liquid quality.

The silhouette is built around a structured, corset-inspired bodice. Each princess seam is boned to sculpt and support the bodice, while a small center-front V and bound neckline give the shape its distinctly vintage character. At the back, an adjustable corset closure allows the dress to be fitted closely through the bust and waist, with a full modesty panel beneath the lacing for coverage.

At the hips, softly gathered panels release into a full tea-length skirt, framed by delicate black tulle ruffles that almost disappear into the velvet.

Care Note

Please handle with care. Silk velvet has a delicate raised pile that can be permanently crushed by direct heat or pressure. Do not iron the velvet. Steam gently from a distance or from inside the garment without pressing the steamer against the fabric. Take extra care around the tulle ruffles, as high heat or close contact with a steamer can melt or distort the tulle.
