Our signature Millie, made in its most luxurious form yet. The Millie Dress in Black Silk Velvet is cut from 100% silk velvet and finished entirely in 100% silk satin, bringing two beautiful natural silk fabrics together in a dress designed to be worn for years and kept for generations.

Silk velvet gives the Millie's familiar silhouette an entirely different character. Deep black shifts subtly with the light as the velvet pile moves, giving dimension to each of the three sweeping skirt layers. Every scalloped edge is finished in black silk satin, creating a quiet contrast in texture and sheen rather than color.

The fitted, fully lined bodice is framed by our signature scoop neckline and finished with long silk satin ties, allowing the neckline to be adjusted and gathered to your preference. Below the natural waist, three dramatically full layers create the movement and volume that define the Millie, with satin tracing every scalloped edge.

Care

Please handle this garment with special care. Silk velvet has a delicate raised pile that can be permanently crushed by direct heat or pressure. Do not iron the velvet. If steaming is necessary, steam gently from a distance or from inside the garment and never press the steamer directly against the fabric. We recommend professional dry cleaning by a cleaner experienced with silk velvet.

When steaming the silk satin trim, use low heat and avoid direct contact with the surrounding velvet. Store hanging with adequate space to prevent prolonged pressure from crushing the velvet pile.
